Fisherman's Hall is the venue for two meetings tonight to address Renoviction issues in Prince Rupert |
There are now two meetings scheduled for Fisherman's Hall tonight to provide tenants of two Prince Rupert area housing complexes with guidance as to their rights in the face of pending eviction.
The second meeting will take place at 7PM and will take the residents of the Oceanfront apartments on First Avenue through the legal options, that will follow a previously scheduled meeting for 5PM that was planned to provide help for the families that reside in the Pinecrest Town Homes on Immanuel.
We made note of the original meeting of 5 PM with this story from yesterday, our notes on the upcoming expulsion of the Pinecrest tenants can be explored here.
The new ownership of both complexes recently served eviction notices for the tenants, that as they prepare for extensive renovations for both residences. The evictions come at a point of time in the city's history where rental accommodation is quite limited, with few options available for those soon to be moving out of their homes.
