School District officials have put a pause on their Budget consultation plans |
With the school year now suspended for the foreseeable future and the province currently putting its full attention towards its response to the COVID-19 situation, School District 52 has put a pause on its Budget consultation process.
The announcement made through the School District's social media stream on Twitter this morning.
Prior to the days of social distancing and provincial orders on gatherings, the Board of Education had been set to host their final consultation session on Tuesday, March 31st.
No further details on their plans towards the budget process were outlined either on their social media stream or through the SD52 website.
Working on the Financials for the future may be a challenging task ahead for School District officials, with British Columbia government set to spend billions of dollars on its COVID-19 response and to answer the uncertain economic times of the moment.
As events continue to unfold, the budget that Finance Minister Carole James presented last month is surely to get a remake at some point in the future and with it could be changes to how the province allocates funding to every aspect of government, including Education.
