Mayor Brain provides message on need to reduce social activities

Mayor Lee Brain made use of his Social message platform of Facebook on Thursday to deliver a message to residents of the city to practice self-isolation measures during this important period for the COVID-19 situation.

Among his themes some advice for parents reminding them to ensure that their children are not out and about in the community and the need to reduce their social interactions to only their own family unit.

The same message was delivered for adults, with the Mayor offering up the use of Skype and other measures for social interaction.

The Mayor also made note of a Television Town Hall hosted by Global Television last night which provided further guidance for the residents of British Columbia from Doctor Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix.

You can view that presentation here.

Mayor Brain's concluding notes pointed the community towards a recent Facebook Post from Prince Rupert Physician Dr. Guillaume Coetzee.

His March 16th contribution to the discussion on COVID-19, provided for an eye opening review of what an outbreak of the virus in the community could bring and what extreme challenges that local medical staff will be facing.
