BC Liquor Stores have been declared an essential service, though changes to hours and Sunday closings are now in place |
Those looking for some beverages to while away the days of physical distancing will have to stock up prior to Sundays, with the BC Liquor Stores across the province set to close their operations on Sundays with a slightly reduced schedule of business hours ahead for the remainder of the week.
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch made note of its newfound status of an essential service on Thursday, posting a notice to customers to their BCLD website which outlines how their Distribution branch and retail liquor and cannabis stores now fall into the provincial mandate.
The update for customers also notes how the Liquor/Cannabis Stores have worked towards physical distancing measures and remain committed towards the guidelines of the province's Public Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.
In addition to the in store measures, they have also shifted the workday for the six days of the week that they will operate, closing their doors every Sunday.
