As of today, the City of Prince Rupert has shifted its operations to essential service measures, discontinuing a number of services for a temporary period of time.

In their advisory of Thursday afternoon, the City noted that while there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Prince Rupert, they are making the shift to maintain the health and safety of the community.

Services that will continue, will include Fire and Police service though with appropriate health protocols now in place.

Emergency water and sewer repairs will continue, as will cemetery services.

Services that will be discontinued until further notice include:

Building inspections, Non essential by-law functions and Non-essential operations.
