Nisga'a Government outlines latest measures in response to COVID-19

Following a meeting in New Aiyansh on Wednesday, the Nisga'a Lisims Government has taken a number of measures as part of their response to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

"We need all hands on deck to control and make sure all of our plans are in place ... The Nisga'a Nation will abide by the WHO and Provincial and Federal Health officials for the duration of this COVID-19 Pandemic" -- Nisga'a Lisims President Eva Clayton

Among some of the measures put in place as of today:

The postponement of the Special Assembly of the Nisga'a nation scheduled for May 115

The Indefinite Closure of the Lava Bed Park and Hot Springs 

Closure of public buildings and cancellation of large gatherings in Nisga'a communities, as well as the promotion of social distancing.

The Nisga'a Emergeny Preparedness Committee will meet regularly to provide for updates and issue public notices.
