City outlines its precautions towards Council sessions, Budget Consultation

The City of Prince Rupert is taking some additional measures towards their work on City Council work, with City Hall encouraging residents to make use of alternative ways of following the upcoming schedule of Council Sessions,

In their statement from Saturday, the City outlines how the Community Charter requires them to continue to keep to scheduled meetings, however they are encouraging the public to use alternative means for their own health and safety and to follow Provincial Orders on social distancing.

For those that may not heed that advisory and attend the public sessions, the City offered up the following notice.

Any person who violates the Provincial Order for social distancing or acting improperly will be expelled from the meeting.

The Live Feed of City Council sessions can be accessed here.

As well, the City will continue on with the Budget Consultation process, with residents asked to email any budget questions to finance@princerupert.ca

Prince Rupert's Chief Financial Officer Corinne Bomben will be accepting contributions from the public through to March 27th.

As well they note that Residents may also still participate in the budget survey available through Rupert Talks by way of this link on the City website.
