With the Mayor relaying some information from Northern Health on the four reported cases of the coronavirus in the North.
All 4 cases in the north have these factors in common:
They know where they originally contracted the virus (they had just return from travel). -
They know exactly how they got home (drove home under strict conditions) and who they were in contact with. -
They know they did not go anywhere but straight home into isolation.
Those individuals are currently at home in isolation.
Because these cases did NOT originate within any northern community itself, under the law, Northern Health won't identify or release the location of these individuals for their privacy/protection as they are technically not a threat to public health, and to not incite panic / speculation / rumors in any one community.
The update also notes that tho this point the virus has not been confirmed to have originated within any Northern Health community and how it would become a public health issue and residents would be notified about which community is affected if that situation arises.
His additional notes towards the COVID-19 situation reinforced the recommendations towards protecting ourselves and the need to be prepared and proactive.
As well Mr, Brain made note that the supply links remain good and that stores will continue to receive shipments and to purchase only what we need.
His Facebook post, which you can access here, also takes questions from the community including concerns over those that may have returned to the country from recent trips and who may not be self isolating for the required fourteen days.
The City has also created a COVID-19 Archive page which you can review here.
