BC Ferries calls for customers to travel only if essential

Following the guidelines of the Public Health Agency of Canada and other leading health authorities, British Columbia Ferries has asked that their customers only travel aboard their vessels if their travel is deemed essential.

In a statement issued this week  BC Ferries noted how they are continuing to provide for the important transportation service to Coastal communities in British Columbia as well as to deliver essential goods to many areas where they are the main transportation provider.

The advisory of this week also outlined how the Ferry service has not been instructed to restrict travel and that they continue to carry all types of traffic.

 “None of us should be travelling if it is not essential. We want our customers that need to travel to know that we have taken steps to keep ferry travel as safe as possible. We are asking our customers to adhere to safe practices for their own safety and for the safety of BC Ferries employees.” -- Mark Collins, BC Ferries’ President and CEO. 

BC Ferries has put in place a range of enhanced health and safety measures on their vessels and at their terminal locations.
