City workers and private contractors hit the New Year challenges of the holiday period head on this morning, with work underway early today on the First Avenue East Waterman break, with the area just east of Mariner's Park a very active work site.
Trucks were lined up early to haul off the work of an excavator digging further into the road and sub surface this morning, the First Avenue work one of a number of areas around the city that gained attention over the last two weeks of 2022.
The work was taken on as part of the State of Local Emergency declaration of December 18th, which provided the city more flexibility in addressing the immediate needs and to make use of contractors.
The State of Local Emergency came to an end on December 24th.
Our full archive of notes from that period is available here.
The City of Prince Rupert has not updated the status of the various water issues of that period since the Christmas Holiday period.
You can keep up with notes from the City's Operations Department through our archive page here.
