Higher than usual volumes of patients once again brings advisory for Prince Rupert area residents when it comes to Emergency Department visits

Northern Health has started 2023, much the same way that they ended 2022, advising residents of the Prince Rupert region of some high volumes of patients at the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital Emergency Department.

The Health Authority noting that as a result, those arriving are finding longer than usual timelines towards seeking care, all dependent on the seriousness of their condition.

Towards the situation, Northern Health also suggest that area residents with less urgent concerns make use of the Northern Health Virtual Primary and Community Care clinic, which operates from 10AM to 10 PM daily including the weekend.

You  can reach the virtual clinic at 1-844-645-7811.

More on that health care asset is available here.

The Health Authority had issued similar advisories for Prince Rupert in mid November and again during the Holiday period of late December.

You can follow the Prince Rupert specific Northern Health social media feed here, for further updates on the situation through the weekend.

More notes on health care in the region can be explored through our archive pages.
