The Lax Kw'alaams Band Council will update the community on a range of topics of note for Band members at a five hour session at the Reginald Sampson Gymnasium next Wednesday.
The session which will run from 1 to 6 PM on January 11th, has an ambitious agenda of topics up for review for the community.
Among the areas where Band members will receive updates from Band Council officials include:
Health, Infrastructure, Housing, Human Resources, Finance, Trust, Rights and Title, Eduction, Forestry, Economic Development, Fisheries, Bylaws and Policy as well as topics related to Recreation, Elders and Youth.
The plans for an afternoon session, do seem to have made for some commentary on the Lax Kw'alaams Social Media page, with many members noting that an afternoon update, doesn't allow for as much attendance as possible owing to work commitments and other activities.
Those participating in the conversation also note that for those working or living in Prince Rupert the opportunity to participate would be improved if an evening, or weekend session was an option.
Others are noting of a desire for some form of an information package be made part of the update program for residents of the community to have as a reference material for the Band Council's presentation.
More notes from Lax Kw'alaams can be explored from our archive page.
