Last week, the Lax Kw'alaams Band Council updated its residents of the impact of the lockdown which went into effect on January 17th, that after a number of reports of positive COVID cases in the Prince Rupert area.
During this period the Band Office has only been open on certain days for sales and cheque cashing purposes, with the Recreation Centre closed for the entire ten day period.
Garbage and recycling however did continue on as per the normal schedule with fuel and pellet delivery also taking place on certain days.
The Lax Kw'alaams Health Centre has also modified its schedule during this period, you can learn more about those changes here.
The full statement from the Band can be reviewed here.
The Lax Kw'alaams Emergency Measures Committee will review the situation on the 27th to determine the status of the Lockdown, at which time they plan on providing an update to the community.
You can keep up with the range of announcements and measures from the Lax Kw'alaams Facebook page.
