Community Futures of the Pacific Northwest is sharing word of funding program available for Non-Profit organizations in the region |
The program known as the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund offers loans of up to $40,000 in funding, with 25 percent of that or 10,000 dollars of it being forgivable.
Some background on the program was outlined today noting how the loan is interest free until December 31st of 2022, which will offer organizations some time to help their organizations recover before they have to worry about making payments.
As part of an information release today, Community Futures of the Pacific Northwest highlights how the fund has assisted some organizations recently and what it offers towards the future.
Recently, focus for the second round of funding has shifted towards non-profit organizations. Many non-profits and businesses in the community were contacted by Community Futures and the City of Prince Rupert’s Business Support and Recovery Helpline program (BSRH), which began during the height of the pandemic and continued through autumn.
When connecting with non-profit organizations, Community Futures staff determined that many non-profit organizations felt they were missing out on funding opportunities. The flexible terms of the RRRF result in non-profit being just as eligible as businesses for funding approval. The RRRF can help cover any operational costs that cannot be deferred, suchas rent, utilities, payroll, and storage.
During the initial rollout, Tourism Prince Rupert was a non-profit organization that accessed the RRRF fund, taking advantage of these terms in order to continue promoting tourism resiliency in the region.
