Terrace remains the hot zone for COVID reports this week, while Prince Rupert records no new cases in most recent reporting period

The weekly release of Local Health Data related to COVID-19 highlights was delayed this week, that owing to insufficient data.

The data was held back for public review until the collection of information was complete, with the figures finally released as of Friday afternoon. The Local Health information  is usually released on Wednesday's.

Once delivered yesterday, the review did offer some good news for Prince Rupert and area residents, with no new cases of COVID reported in the area from the week of January 3-9

That leaves the Prince Rupert total case level at 20 reported cases since the start of the pandemic in January of 2020.

The BC Centre for Disease shares data on a weekly basis culled from Local Health Authority reports and in the most recent reporting period the regional hot spot is Terrace with 44 reported cases during the data collection period.
