Prince Rupert makes for final Northwest stop for BC Senior's Advocate

Today marks the start of a five day tour of the Northwest for Isobel Mackenzie, British Columbia's Seniors Advocate who will holding information sessions across the region with Prince Rupert the destination for Friday and the final stop on her tour.

As part of her travels, the Seniors Advocate will be looking to hear about what is working and what is not working for Seniors in each community as well as to outline more on what her Office is advocating for and how current issues impact on our Seniors.

Towards their work as they explain it:

The Office of the Seniors Advocate monitors and analyzes seniors services and issues in B.C., and makes recommendations to government and service providers to address systemic issues.

The Office also provides information and referrals for individuals who are navigating seniors services and tracks their concerns, which helps inform future work.

The services which the Office monitors are in five key areas: health care, housing, income supports, community supports and transportation.

The Crest is the venue for Friday's Prince Rupert session

The Prince Rupert gathering is to take place from 10 AM to Noon in the British Columbia Room of the Crest Hotel.

The full itinerary for the trip is available here.
