The Northern BC office offers a 10 day passport service, originally planned for an April opening, the recent Public Service labour dispute delayed opening day.
Skeena Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach had been the strongest advocate for the service, noting of the challenges residents of Northern BC had in accessing services and he was pleased to share word of the opening today.
“The new passport office is great news for the approximately 300,000 people who live in northern BC. We made our voices heard and worked together to make a difference. I think that’s something we can all be proud of.”
Bachrach had taken the issue to the Federal Government for months advocating for constituents of the Northwest.
The MP adds that his constituency staff will continue to assist constituents with passport issues. People seeking help with passport applications and renewals can reach out to his team by phone, email or in person.
The Passport Canada Office location for Northern BC is at 1363 4th Avenue in Prince George |
