Our Okanagan like summer conditions to date is are having some impact on the normal course of activity for the usually somewhat damp North Coast, with the City of Prince Rupert issuing a rare for us Fire Ban advisory today.
Through their Social Media page, the city outlined that due to the dry conditions they would will not be issuing category 2 or 3 burning permits (for industrial/waste pile burning) until at least June 15th, or until the public is informed otherwise.
While campfires are not banned, there are some guidelines to follow for those planning to host one

The City has also shared some provincial information related to Fire restrictions from the BC Wildfire Service.
