The 20 or so member of CUPE Local 105 have a new contract with North Coast Regional District, the news relayed earlier this week in an information release from the Regional Government.
Of note from the announcement:
The agreement includes a 4% wage increase for the first year (retroactive for 2023), a 3.5% increase in 2024, and a 3% increase in 2025.
It also provides greater safety, health and wellness benefits to employees.
The three year collective agreement runs for a period of January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025
NCRD CAO Daniel Fish noted of the nature of the negotiations as part of his commentary on the labour pact.
I wish to extend a thank you to everyone involved in the bargaining process for the work that they have done to create an agreement that meets the needs of our employees during these uncertain times.”

In April Prince Rupert residents learned of a contract settlement for the City of Prince Rupert workforce.
Though there was no official announcement released, the details of the Prince Rupert deal coming by way of a question from a resident as part of the Civic Budget Process.
The Prince Rupert agreement delivered a four year deal, with three years of four percent increases and a final year of two percent increases, the City Manager Rob Buchan advised at the time that the deal had been ratified.
