Chance for community input on Planning for parks and outdoor spaces comes tonight

The City of Prince Rupert's planning department is looking for feedback tonight at a virtual community event designed to plan the way forward for Outdoor spaces, from parks to other recreation themes, the City wants to hear from the community.

The City's work towards the future for Recreation and parks spaces began a year ago, when the city and Urban Systems began the process of taking stock of the current assets towards the planning for what may come in the future.

As we outlined earlier this month a Draft Report was delivered to City Council with the City's Planning Manager Myfannwy Pope outlining the path of progress so far, towards what has been called Rupert Plays.

With that came a survey to seek more guidance from the community towards how the community views the options for community space. Both surveys, one for youth and one for the General Community can be accessed here from the Rupert Talks platform.

The Rupert Plays segment features all of the items of note to date related to the planning initiative.

As for tonight's Virtual Consultation, things get underway at 7PM, to learn more about how that will work and to register for this evenings plans check out the City's Event page here

Some past notes on the city's pathway to new Parks and Recreation can be reviewed here.

Further notes on Civic themes can be explored through our Council Discussion archive page.
