Property at Lax Kxeen School across from the SD52 Board offices will be developed as a new Daycare facility in Prince Rupert |
The Prince Rupert School District will receive more than 10.5 million dollars for the 111 new spaces to be located in a building across from the School Board Offices on Sixth Avenue East will compliment the existing 33 Day Care spaces already in place currently adjacent to the Booth Building.
The new facility will house licensed daycare spaces for infants/toddlers ages 0-36, group care for those 30 months to school age and include space for before and after school care for Grades from K- grade 5.
Today's announcement included comments from Board Chair Kate Toye along with North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice.
No details towards a timeline for construction for the new facility were included as part of today's announcement.
