With provincial funding received for Early Learning and Childcare initiative, SD52 announces staffing changes at Lax Kxeen Elementary School

Some key staffing changes for Lax Keen Elementary
are on the horizon for October 1st


School District 52 has announced  a shuffle of administrative positions for Lax Kseen Elementary School, that after the District received some additional funding towards a program for Early learning and Childcare.

An announcement from last week notes of a new role for Susan Kobza who will now take on the role of District-Vice Principal - Early Learning and Childcare.

SD52 noting that the Ministry of Education provided the District with funding for the position, which will see Ms. Kobza lead the district's preparation for future early learning and child care needs.

As a result of that new initiative, Tania Murray has been appointed as the new Principal for Lax Keen Elementary School, with Cora Barak to step into the role of Vice Principal at the school.

All the positions go into effect as of October 1st.

Superintendent Andrew Samoil outlined his enthusiasm for the work ahead for all three.

“I am pleased to have Susan join the Board Office staff this year as we look forward to developing plans to provide early learning and childcare opportunities for families, Tania has benefitted from the mentorship provided to vice-principals, preparing her for her role as the principal at Lax Kxeen Elementary School. We are pleased to welcome Cora to the administrative team in the district.”
