Those on the roads earlier this morning were finding some challenges navigating, that after the overnight freeze, left many streets slick.
The glaze of ice putting the test to driving skills and separating those with, or without winter tires during the morning commute.
Many streets had seemingly not seen any sand by 8 AM, something which was noted on a a number of the social media feeds in the community today, with both drivers and pedestrians making observations of the challenges of the day.
The topic even made it tot he City's own Facebook page, with a note of warning towards sidewalk navigation on the morning.
With a Council session set for tonight, how the city rolls out its road maintenance programs could make for a good question from someone on Council to bring up.
The question offering an opportunity for the City's Director of Operations, Richard Pucci to provide some background as to when the city sends out the sanding trucks and to reinforce the winter snow plan, that before we possibly seen any significant accumulations.
Towards that, we may see another overnight freeze tonight as the temperature hovers near the 0 mark.
We then return to rain, though an eye on Friday could bring the first snowfall for the season to Prince Rupert.
