Last call for Prince Rupert residents to bleat out comment towards Moby Dick Goats request

If you're on Team Yay or Nay on the issue of the Moby Dick Goats,
today is the final day for comment towards a temporary use permit
request that Prince Rupert City Council may consider on Monday

Today marks the final day for consolation with the public on a request by the owner of the Moby Dick Inn for a temporary use permit to allow for a pair of goats to take up residence on the lot adjacent to the downtown hotel.

Their purpose that of vegetation control, though for most of those in favour of the goats to this point their work would be secondary to the rural vibe they would offer the downtown core.

As we outlined last month when the topic came to Prince Rupert City Council, Teresa Lee owner of the Moby Dick Hotel made her case for the goats to Council at their November 14th session.

We outlined the details towards the request for the Temporary Use Permit, prior to the Council session on the 14th, that with a look at the Report for Council on the theme.

At that time Council moved the request forward for Public Notification, which the City of Prince Rupert issued on Friday November 24th.

The details towards how you can contribute to the dialogue are explained below:

Once the 4:30 PM deadline arrives today, city staff will compile all the commentary provided both pro and con towards the goat issue and could make it part of the discussion for the Monday evening Council session.

A report that might very well be the most read and most entertaining one to come out of Council this year.

If indeed it makes the Agenda, and with the Monday session being the final Regular Council session for the year; it's likely the fate of Salt and Pepper, as the goats are known by could be settled by the end of the Monday session.

More notes on Council themes can be reviewed through our archive page here.
