Incident at Brucejack mine claims one worker's life

Operations have been suspended at a Northwest mining site, after Newmont Corporation operator of the Brucejack Mine north of Stewart announced a workplace incident on December 20th.

Few details were released towards the incident from the statement from the parent company, with Newmount officials offering their thoughts to the family, friends and colleagues of the worker.

Operations will remain suspended as authorities conduct an investigation into the incident.

The BruceJack mine commenced operations in 2017, it had seen three previous fatalities on site prior to the December 20th incident. 

There has been no information provided by the Province to this point related to the Brucejack incident.
