Prince Rupert City Council maps out the meeting schedule for 2024


The blue print for the conduct of civic business through City Council sessions was put forward on Monday evening, with a report from Rosa Miller, the Director of Corporate and Legislative Services providing for the Meeting Schedule process for 2024.


The document was received and approved with no discussion or observations to the year approaching from the council members.

From the copy provided as part of the report, Council will host meetings every second Monday through January to June. 

They shift to their summer schedule of one meeting per month as of July through September as well as for the annual Christmas period where only one session is scheduled for December.

In total, 20 Regular Council sessions are schedule for 2024.

When it comes to conventions, three of note are flagged as part of he document.

The out of town opportunities come starting in May. 

That with the North Central Local Government Association gathering, June brings four days for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities while the annual UBCM convention week takes place from September 16-20.
