Higher than usual volumes of patients making for longer wait times at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital issued a notification for area residents Friday afternoon, noting of a growing volume of patients arriving at the emergency department of the hospital today, something which is resulting in longer  than usual wait times for those seeking care.

The Advisory issued through Northern Health's Social Media stream also directed those who may have less than urgent health care requirements to contact their primary care provider or physician's office.

The also suggest that area residents with less urgent concerns make use of the Northern Health Virtual Primary and Community Care clinic, which operates from 10AM to 10 PM daily including the weekend.

You  can reach the virtual clinic at 1-844-645-7811.

More on that health care asset is available here.

You can follow the Prince Rupert specific Northern Health social media feed here, for further updates on the situation through the weekend.
