Patio fans may want to weigh in on a current consultation on keeping the Wheelhouse version a permanent feature (image from recent business to business promotion) |
The patio currently exists under a Temporary Extended Service Area permit which was created by the LCLB in response to COVID two years ago.
For its part as the city explains in a notice to the civic website:
The City of Prince Rupert is inviting comment from the public on this Application prior to making a decision on whether to support the Application. Anyone wishing to make comment on the Application may do so by submitting written comments in writing to the Corporate Administrator on or before 4:00 pm Friday, June 24th, 2022.
Council will then follow up with their decision on the topic at their regular June 27th Council session at 7PM
Council members had their first notice of the request back in March when the topic made for a short agenda item, at that time they had no objections or comments to make related to the request.
Should you wish to view the application or seek more information about it drop by the Front Desk of City Hall.
In the case of this request, Permanent of course will only be as long as the Wheelhouse Brewing Company is at their current location.
They are set to become the prime tenant for the City of Prince Rupert's CN Rail Station rebirth project on the waterfront, that work is still in its early stages of development.
More on that initiative can be found as part of our archive of projects coming out of the City's 2030 Vision Plan.
More notes on Council themes can be explored through our archive page.
