As if the staff at the Prince Rupert Bylaw office don't have enough headaches these days with their day to day work around town, some scammers from afar seem to have targeted the City of Prince Rupert Bylaw office for their latest plan to take our money from us.
A notice today on the City's Social Media feed notes of the telephone scam which has the scammers calling residents on the phone, pretending to be a member of the Bylaw office and asking for a credit card number to pay over the phone for an overdue Parking ticket.
In their advisory, the City notes that they never call for payment or ask for credit card information on the phone, with notices delivered by mail or served in person.
More notes on civic themes can be reviewed through our archive page here.
