Two Terrace area Transportation Projects receive honours from Province

Last year was a busy year for Transportation work in the Terrace area, and two of the more expansive projects have been named as Award Winners in their Categories.

The provincial accolades directed towards two contractors WSP and Urban Systems that took on the work and the challenges that they provided for and delivered a completed project on time and within budget.

The work on the Old Skeena Bridge was recognized for some of the unanticipated challenges that came along to make the project one requiring considerable changes to the original pans

A Video presentation on the project outlined some of the unique challenges that the work requires from the contractor.

The Second of the projects honoured this week was the work required on the Highway 16 Vehicle Inspection near Highways 16 and 37.

The Video presentation towards the Weigh Scale work outlined the integration that the project provided for to increase the efficiencies for moving goods across Northern BC.

The winners were announced at the B.C. Transportation Conference for the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – British Columbia, held in Vancouver on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024.
