Northern Heath seeks Housing for staff as they fill open posts in Prince Rupert

If you have housing accommodation available, Northern Health would like to hear from you.

The Health Authority which continues on with its recruitment work for Open Positions at Health facilities in the city, is also in the market for some housing for those who choose to come to the North Coast.

Northern Health maintains a range of housing across the region for health care staff that are working in the region either on a temporary basis or are moving to the community and require temporary housing.

The intent of providing housing is to ensure health care staff have a safe, comfortable, and modern accommodation experience after providing health care services to the community.

Northern Health is seeking proposals from Proponents for the provision of housing and housing related services in Prince Rupert.

The entry posted February 2nd to the BC Bid Website provides more detail towards the housing initiative.

With Northern Health noting that the maximum annual budget will correspond to the market rate in the community for the provision of housing and housing-related services.

They note that the  desired start date for occupancy is May 1, 2024, though an earlier start date may be negotiated.

The initial term of the Residential Tenancy Agreement will be one year, with the option to renew for an indefinite period.

What they are looking for in terms of Housing is as follows:

Housing challenges have been identified in the past as one of the key challenges towards recruitment for Health Care in the region,  it was one of the many themes explored as part of a Health Care Forum in 2022.

In January, Prince Rupert City Council members invited Northern Health to come to an upcoming Council session to explore more on the state of Health Care in the region.

So far, no date has seemingly been set for that exchange of notes in the Council Chamber.

More notes on Northern Health can be reviewed here.
