City to Province, on McBride Street lighting, the bill is in the mail

The City of Prince Rupert has taken measures into their own hands to ensure road safety on one of the city's busiest streets, with the City taking action to replace a burned out street light that the provincial contractor was tardy on repairs towards.

A report for Council tonight from Director of operations Richard Pucci outlines how after a number of complaints to the City and seemingly a less than quick response by the province, the City replaced the light in question in the 300 block of McBride and will be billing the province for the work done.

The report is part of the Agenda for tonight's council session.

It also highlights some of the challenges that the Operations Department is having in addressing those street lights maintained by the City of Prince Rupert.

A look at what else is on the agenda can be reviewed here.

An overview of the work from the Operations Department can be explored here.
