MLA's to return to work at BC Legislature on February 20th

Lieutenant Governor Janet Austin will be back at
BC Legislature on February 20th to deliver the
Speech from the Throne to open up a new session
of the Provincial Parliament

MLA's Jennifer Rice, Ellis Ross and Nathan Cullen have a few more weeks to attend to some of their northwest constituency work and then it's back to Victoria.

The members of the British Columbia Legislature have been called back to Victoria to get to work on a busy Spring Agenda, our MLA's to assemble at the Legislature on Tuesday, February 20th.

The Advisory for MLA's was issued on Monday.

The first order of business will be to dispense with the last session with prorogation of the 4th session of the 42nd Parliament to take place at Noon hour.

The Spring Session, which officially will be known as the 5th session of the 42nd Parliament will commence at 2PM when Lieutenant Governor Janet Austin Delivers the Speech From the Throne.

Ms. Austin's  presentation will provide the blue print for what the NDP government of David Eby has planned in the final months leading up to the October election.

The provincial budget is set to be delivered two days later on February 22nd

The Lieutenant Governor was last in the Legislature in December when she closed off the fall session and delivered Royal Assent to range of NDP bills.

You can follow some of those themes as they are revealed from the speech later this month and through the year from our Legislature Archive page.

As well, we offer up a wider overview of provincial themes through our political blog D'Arcy McGee.
