A design illustration of the new Mills Memorial Hospital currently under construction in Terrace (from Northern Health) |
While work ramps up towards a finish line on the other side of the Sande Street overpass, Northern Health is setting up shop in the Skeena Mall this week, offering residents of Terrace and those who may be visiting the city a chance to catch up on the progress for the Mills Memorial Hospital project.
The new state of the art hospital complex has been rising on the Terrace skyline on the city's south side just steps away from the existing facility and the footprint that travellers see is an indication towards the scope of the project and the impact that it will have on Health care across the region when it opens sometime in the Spring of 2025.
As Northern Health observes, upon its opening the new hospital will be a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, and pharmacy services. Similar to now, the hospital will also be a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.
The Skeena Mall Display located at the Save on Foods side of the mall, was debuted today and will remain in place at the downtown mall until the 29th of September, allowing ample time for browsing, Northern Health has also included an online display for Northwest residents to access which can be found here.
Included in both presentations whether at the Skeena Mall, or online, are some notes on the various elements of the new hospital from floor plans for the health care facility, to detailed looks at the Birthing unit, Cancer Care Clinic, Emergency Room and adjacent Seven Sisters facility to name a few.
As part of their engagement towards the new build, Northern Health is looking for comment or conversation through their engagement platform.
More notes from Northern Health can be reviewed from our archive pages here.
