With a road trip on the horizon for the annual UBCM convention, this year in Vancouver, Prince Rupert City Council will host their only Regular Scheduled Session for September this evening, though with a change to the start time to 5:00 PM and the cancellation of the Committee of the Whole process for the month.
A range of reports make for the bulk of their work ahead tonight, most part of the Consent Agenda with contributions from the Fire Chief, Operations Director, Financial Office and the Planning Department
Of note is a report on the partnership between EcoTrust Canada and the City on a report on the use of Heat Pumps in the community and how to increase their use. There is also a presentation scheduled with a representative from EcoTrust Canada.
Council will also begin the process of adoption of bylaws for the new Permissive Property Tax Exemption program.
The evening also features an opportunity in the early going of the session for the public to comment on items listed on the Agenda.
Monday's Regular Council session starts at 7 PM and can be viewed by way of the Live Feed from the City Website.
