Range of themes covered in November Regional District session

Letters of support were the order of the day for the November 17th session of North Coast Regional District, with the Board noting of a number of correspondences set to go out in support of a range of initiatives.

Among the support to be offered by Regional District some advocacy for the Village of Daajing Giids for their Foundry Centre project, a letter to the Minister of Housing related to a call to be included in the Secondary Suite Incentive program and support for a residential subdivision for the Tow Hill area on Haida Gwaii.

Also on the correspondence to do list,  a letter to the CRTC in support of CityWest's subsea fibre redundancy project, asking for a timely decision towards a current funding application.

The Board also offered its support for an application to Northern Development Initiative Trust towards the Business Facade program. They outlined plans for recycling bins for Port Edward and noted of a planned renaming for the airport in Sandpit, though observing of the lack of consultation to this point from Transport Canada.

From the Agenda, they also reviewed Directors remuneration,  Travel policies and reimbursement of Travel and Other  Expenses.

Remuneration rates for Board members from December 2023 to December 2024 will be as follows:
