There appears to have been an incursion of wolves in the District of Port Edward in recent weeks, with the District relaying notes from the BC Conservation Officer Service that they are in the area and dealing with the situation.
As a result, the advisory for the public recommends that they keep their pets safe and not to allow them to roam at large.
There has been much commentary through social media related to the wolf sightings, with some noting of industrial activity on Ridley Island, where land clearing is underway as responsible for the movement.
Others note of the large presence of deer around the community of late.
You can follow the Port Edward Social media feed here, for updates on the situation.
