City of Prince Rupert opens comment period related to permit for Moby Dick Goats

Salt and Pepper the Moby Dick Goats await their fate
from Prince Rupert City Council

The opportunity for the public to weigh in on whether the owner of the Moby Dick Inn should be allowed to have two goats on the property adjacent to the downtown hotel has arrived, with the City of Prince Rupert posting Notice today of the opportunity to comment on the request for a Temporary Use Permit.

As we outlined on the blog back on November 15th, City Council received a presentation from Moby Dick owner Teresa Lee and then later in the session moved the process on to the public notification stage.

Today's announcement from City Hall, sets the clock ticking to a December 8th close for comments.

The city notes that the application for the permit could be considered by Council at their December 11th session.

The City's Social media notice of today is seemingly serving as an instant poll on the request, with a few comments already setting the tone for the conversation in Prince Rupert.

Though as Veronika Stewart, Manager of Communications, Engagement and Social Development reminds those weighing in on social media, that only comments submitted to the Corporate Administrator will be considered by Council.

More notes from Prince Rupert City Council can be reviewed through our Council Discussion archive. page.
