The way that the BC CDC relays its notes on COVID has seen a change with the provincial agency now compiling data on what it is calling Respiratory Disease Information, the introduction to the new methodology of data review coning with this advisory.

The main focus now one that includes influenza themes as well as COVID.

The BC Centre of Disease Control is combining surveillance reporting to include influenza, COVID-19 and other respiratory pathogens in one platform to better monitor trends throughout the respiratory season.

The full range of data review is available here and for now it seems the days of the breakdown of the Northwest regional health area, as found in the map above will be suspended or eliminated.

That volume of information now archived and replaced by reports on epidemiology and ongoing trends, as well as COVID situation reports

The COVID Dashboard does remain in place however, with both a province wide and Northern Health Review available.

The most recent advisory as noted below:

697 New Cases (noted as of Oct 8) , with 365  hospitalized, 19 in Critical Care  and 25 new deaths from COVID reported.

The total number of deaths in BC since the start of the coronavirus is 4,370 to date.

There have been 385,599  cases of COVID recorded in the province since the arrival of the pandemic

As of September 1st the Province had distributed 14,488,235 second or booster shots of the COVID Vaccine, Northwest residents can now able to book their appointments for the current booster campaign. With the fall flu program also set to to start across the region.

Thursday's provincial report lists  46 new cases of COVID for the Northern Health region for the reporting week, an increase of five from last weeks report.

That makes for a total of 31,124 cases recorded since the start of the pandemic.

For the Northern Health Region, 20 patients are listed as in hospital, with  0 noted as in Critical Care, the Northern Health region recorded 2 deaths in this last week.
