Third candidate enters Prince Rupert Mayor's race as Jason Hoang introduces himself

The tally now stands at three for the Mayor's Chair at City Hall with Jason Hoang the latest candidate to announce his plans to seek the Prince Rupert Mayoralty, the announcement coming through a Social media post last week.

The local businessman noting of his family journey to Canada and how as he has put his roots down in Prince Rupert he is looking to lead the community into the future.

His profile notes of his focus on housing policy, attention towards the business community and how he is looking to expand on opportunities for youth in the community.

In his commentary, the candidate observes how he will use his contacts and relationships in the community to create new opportunity and address the local housing challenges,  while also expanding on efforts to improve how the downtown core area looks.

He most recently gained some attention in his efforts to start up a local dodgeball league and towards some assistance for local wrestlers over the last few months, two pursuits that are serving to raise his profile in the community.


The introduction piece so far makes for the only election campaign notes to be posted to his website, though the profile and platform he plans to expand on will more than likely roll out as we move towards The post Labour Day period.
