District of Port Edward makes ready for Election 2022


Residents of the District of Port Edward considering a potential run for office this fall, will have a short window for nomination coming up starting at the end of this month, with the District set to take Nomination for the Municipal election from August 30th to September 9th.

As part of their preparations for the 2022 vote, the District has named their Election officials for the campaign period and vote on October 15th. 

Serving as Chief Election Officer is Polly Pereira, while Danielle Myles Wilson will hold the post of Deputy Chief Election Officer.

The District has posted two items of note to their website related to this early period of the electoral process, outlining how the election nomination period oversight will work, as well as the availability of the list of registered electors, which is available at the District of Port Edward Municipal office on pacific Avenue.

The District electors will be selecting one Mayor and four council members when Election Day comes around on October 15th.

So far, there have been no public pronouncements on political intentions from the existing council members or any potential newcomers to the process in the District.
