Northern Health adds to Prince Rupert medical roster with introduction of new Internal Medicine Specialist

Northern Health has announced that Doctor Leigh Mae Provencher
will be setting up her practice in Internal medicine at PRRH

Northern Health has added to its list of hirings for the Prince Rupert area, welcoming Doctor Leigh Mae Provencher to Prince Rupert, highlighting her practice to be set up at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital with Doctor Provencher to serve as a specialist in Internal Medicine.

In their notes of early August, the Health Authority did not specify a start time for the newest specialist for the community.

The announcement is the latest to make note of some arrivals for the medical community in Prince Rupert,  as Northern Health looks to fill a range of positions that they have been seeking physicians for over the last six months.

The ongoing efforts continue the work outlined by Northern Health last November when they provided an update on the status of health care in Prince Rupert for Prince Rupert City Council.

At that time they had identified a number of areas where they were actively recruiting for at the time, with some of the timeline indeed reaching into the summer of 2022.

The Northern Health Check list of positions to fill
as of November of 2021

The Health Authority has not to date posted a checklist of their success on the list, other than through the announcements found on the Prince Rupert specific Social Media feed.
