Residents of Moresby and Graham Islands will be saying their farewells the MV Kwuna this fall, as the BC Ferries vessel which serves on the inter-island service heads off for a two month refit.
An announcement from BC Ferries todays provided some background on the tug and barge service that will take the Kwuna's place during the refit, along with the modified schedule through to the anticipated date of return for the Kwuna of November 24th.

The loss of the Kwuna, which while required owing to refit requirements, comes as Islanders continue to seek out additional sailings from BC Ferries to address some of their ongoing frustrations with the level of service between Prince Rupert and Skidegate.
Earlier this month BC Ferries released their first quarter results, while also acknowledging some of the staffing shortages that have led to cancelled sailings at times in the summer. Some of which have impacted on the North Coast Sailings for the Northern Adventure.
Last week North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice relayed news of some additional crossings between Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii, though the news came with somewhat of a mixed reaction.
