It's been a welcome return to daily flight service this week for Air Canada's Prince Rupert - Vancouver route with Air Canada Jazz wrapping up their first full week of a daily departure and arrival through the Digby Island Airport.
YPR celebrated the good news one week ago, sharing the information update through their website.
Previous to the flight additions, the service to Price Rupert had been on a five or six day schedule at times through the first three months of 2022.
The return to seven day service adds to the options out of Prince Rupert for travellers with an 11AM arrival and 2PM departure, providing for a mid-day connection between north and south.
Hopefully, filling in the full complement of flights per week is just the beginning of some further good news for the Prince Rupert Airport, with hopes that at least a second daily flight for travellers could be made available in the future.
Something that would certainly help in reclaiming some of the lost traveller traffic that heads for Terrace and the range of flight options offered through that airport.
