Members of the District of Port Edward Council will be doing a lot of listening this evening, as their month end Council session features a number of presentations and reports on a variety of themes for the night.
Among the items up for the attention of Mayor Bjorndal and his Council, a Presentation from BC Transit that will chart the future of Transit in the region for the next five years. Two representatives from BC Transit are to be on hand for the Zoom session to outline the Vision plan from the Transit service.
The Council members will also receive a project update on Port Edward LNG, the small scale LNG terminal facility proposed for near the BC Hydro site in the District.
The District will also be asked to approve a grant application towards the creation of a grant writers position for the municipal office.
Also included in the Agenda for tonight, is a copy of a letter that the District has forwarded to the Minister of Transportation Rob Fleming, along with North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice, the correspondence outlining the District's concerns over the state of Highway 16.
