The British Columbia Utilities Commission has issued it's final notice towards its approval for changes to interim delivery rates for Pacific Northern Gas across Northern British Columbia.
The approval is on an interim and refundable basis and effective as of January 1st
The Commission detailed the interim changes in an information release from December, which outlined how the changes will impact on communities across the North.
For the Northwest, the interim approvals feature increases of 4.9 percent for residential, 4.6 for Small Commercial as well as a request for a change in the Residential, Small Commercial Revenue Stabilization Adjustment Mechanism in place.

Those results could change once PNG files an amended Revenue Requirement Application by the end of February, when they will seek BCUC approval of permanent rates.
And towards all of that the BCUC is conducting two open and transparent Public proceedings to start off their review process.
To participate residents can take two options, or both, if they wish to register their comments.
The First is to request intervenor status and actively participate in the proceeding, to follow up on that option you must contact the BCUC by the end of January.
Those with an interest in the process can also submit a letter of comment, which will become part of the public record on the BCUC review.
To learn more on those two options see the BCUC information page here.
More notes from the BCUC on their proceedings related to the PNG West file can be reviewed here.
Past items of note on PNG themes can be reviewed here.
