All Native Basketball Tournament Postponed until end of March

With cases of COVID-19 on the rise and concerns over the Omicron variant of note these days, the Organizing Committee of the All Native Basketball Tournament has announced the Postponement of the popular Prince Rupert event, setting forward a new plan towards hosting the event at the end of March.

The information for participants and fans was relayed on Friday night through the ANBT Social Media stream.

As we had noted last week, the prospect of the scheduled dates of February had made for significant discussion on the ANBT social media forum feed, and as it was last week, the discussion has continued with the new plans in motion, with many of those commenting in favour of the fall back plan.

The dates for the rescheduled Tournament are now set for March 27th to April 2nd, though that appears to be contingent on the status and path of the coronavirus over the next few weeks.

You can follow for updates on the planning for the ANBT from the tournament Facebook page.

More notes on the tournament can be explored through our archive page.
