City Council to host Public hearing for rezoning of property on 11th Avenue East for multi unit use

A property in the 400 Block of 11th Avenue East is the subject
for a Public hearing tonight for City Council starting at 6 PM

Residents of the 11th Avenue East area will have an opportunity to share their thoughts on a proposed land rezoning request as part of a Public Hearing tonight, that as City Councillor Wade Niesh's application for the rezoning of property in the 400 block of 11th East moves forward.

The item was last up for review of Council in November at which time Councillor Mirau had complimented Mr. Niesh on the thorough nature of his application and the documentation that he had provided for the proposed rezoning.

As is required, Councillor Niesh had previously recused himself from any of the Council discussions related to the rezoning application.

The main focus for the rezoning request is to build three dwelling units in one multi family dwelling, adding to the volume of housing for the property in question.

The scope of the plan for redevelopment can be explored from the Agenda of the November 22nd Council session, which detailed the proposed plans for the newly consolidated parcel of land.

The Public Hearing is scheduled at 6PM at Prince Rupert City Hall.

If you have questions on the public hearing process, or wish to provide comment towards the proposal you can contact the City's Corporate Administrator, Rosa Miller at 250-627-0963 for more information.

Once the Public hearing is complete tonight, the item will return to the Regular Council Session at 7PM for further consideration of the City Council members.
