Two more passings reported from Acropolis Manor, brings to twelve the number of COVID-19 related deaths since Mid January at the long term care facility in Prince Rupert



The sad toll of COVID-19 continues to rise in Prince Rupert with Northern Health advising of the passing of two more residents of Acropolis Manor, bringing to twelve now the total number of residents to pass away from COVID-related issues since the outbreak began in mid January.

"Tragically, 12 Acropolis Manor residents have died since the outbreak began, and Northern Health again offers heartfelt condolences to the family and caregivers of these individuals." -- From today's statement from Northern Health

The Health Authority has also listed one additional confirmed case to the current outbreak, with 31 residents and 20 staff members now listed as having confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Northern Health notes that ongoing monitoring and testing of staff and residents continues.

Officials also outlined that steps continue to protect the health or residents and staff as the outbreak continues:

Northern Health continues to take steps to protect the health of all Acropolis Manor residents and staff, and appreciates the hard work of staff, nurses and physicians who continue to provide compassionate care during understandably challenging circumstances. 

 Additional supports continue to be implemented at Acropolis Manor, to ensure safe and consistent care for residents and to answer questions from resident families, and staff. 

Communication with families is ongoing.
