Carving a new recreation area out of scrub and rock work is underway at Seal Cove on the Salt Marsh project |
For those that haven't been down Seal Cove way in recent weeks, the work on the Seal Cove revitalization project is making some good strides, with the 4 million dollar project currently carving its place out around the Seal Cove Salt Marsh.
Workers with the Coast Tsimshian Northern Contractors Alliance have been active since the launch of the project earlier this month, with a very visible outline of the path the new trails and other amenities will take now quite visible.

As we outlined back on February 3rd, the finished project will include a lighted pathway around the salt marsh, a pedestrian bridge, viewpoints and seating areas and interpretive signage for visitors to the area.
The new addition to the Seal Cove area, will compliment the RushBrook trail and expansion at the Rupert Lawn and Garden Centre.
The Port of Prince Rupert's master plan for the Seal Cove Salt marsh project |
The initial phase of the walking trails and other elements are anticipated to be completed by this July and will make for another recreation destination for the community. The environmental additions to the Salt Marsh project will evolve over the next few years.
You can follow the progress for the project through the Prince Rupert Port Authority's twitter feed and Facebook page.
